Church
Location:
The present church property is conveniently located on the corner of 25th and Hamilton Streets, just two blocks east of the Hamilton Street exit off I-480 (the North Freeway/ Highway 75). It is near the vibrant and expanding central business district, and a few blocks from Creighton University. It is also in the midst of an economic development area.
The historical church building includes a sanctuary with seating capacity of approximately 375, a choir loft for 50, and a full basement containing classrooms and an assembly area. In 1998 construction was completed on a 7340 square foot flexible Educational Wing/Fellowship Hall containing five classrooms, a stage, and a commercial size kitchen. During construction of the new addition, the worship space and the church administrative areas were renovated.
Several years ago, the church had a vision for economic development. As a result property surrounding the church was purchased. In 2000 the church entered a partnership with the Omaha Economic Development Corporation (OEDC) for construction of senior citizen housing. Two housing complexes were planned – one was completed in 2002 and the other was completed in July of 2003. A 501(c) corporation (Pilgrim/OEDC Economic Development Corporation) was formed for management of the property.
