Annual Juneteenth History
From the beginning on June 19, 1865, the history and thereafter, it is important to learn and share. In 2021, this date became a federal holiday. Yes, share the history in the community, with our family and friends, at work, and in our neighborhoods too. Find literature to read, moments to share, and activities to do.
We, the members of Pilgrim have a loyalty and love for God, each other, our community, and our nation. The fellowship takes place outside the walls of the church to help those in need. How can we accomplish this task? We will share the love of Jesus Christ in the community, with our family and friends, and neighbors through evangelism. Thereafter, the participant will grow, and leave refreshed with spiritual nourishment. However, we continue to pray for them and encourage them to attend our weekly services.
Juneteenth Parade
First thing to remember, the NAACP Omaha Chapter organizes the Juneteenth Parade which is from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Omaha Freedom Festival
As a matter of fact, are you looking for a family friendly event to celebrate the national holiday? A local non-profit Freedomtainment, Inc. organizes and will celebrate their annual event. The event is called Omaha Freedom Festival. The first festival was in 2021. The location site is at the Malcolm X Outside Event Plaza 3448 Evans Street, Omaha, NE, 68111. Join in on the fun and festivities on Saturday, June 15, 2024, for the special celebration.
Not to mention, from noon to 5 p.m., enjoy free family activities, including a Kidz Zone, local artists, musicians, food and beverage vendors, free health screenings and more. As a result, each attendee will need a FREE day pass to enter and children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. To obtain free tickets to the daytime event click here.
In fact, the nighttime concert is from 8:00 PM to Midnight. Each attendee, including children must purchase a ticket.
